Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, signed a €75 million financing agreement with the Government of Germany to support the “Modernisation for Growth” programme. The agreement was signed by Maike Lerch-Simross, Senior Portfolio Manager on behalf of the German Development Bank (KfW), in the attendance of Dr. Bertram von Moltke, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Jordan.

Minister Toukan expressed appreciation for Germany’s continued support, noting that the financing will enhance the private sector’s regulatory framework and strengthen Jordan’s economic competitiveness in line with the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap and the Economic Modernisation Vision.

Ambassador von Moltke stated: “Jordan has set ambitious goals for the modernization of its public sector. Germany is proud to be one of the main supporters of this ambition and will release a first batch of funding. I am happy that we achieved this step together. Further strengthening the public sector will contribute to a resilient economy.”
