18/6/2025 - The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation signed three grant agreements with the German Development Bank (KfW) totaling EUR 35 million to implement the project entitled “Employment through Local Entrepreneurship. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Bertram von Moltke, Ambassador of Germany to Jordan and Matthias Schmidt-Rosen, Director of the KfW Office in Jordan who signed the grant agreements on behalf of KfW.
“Germany is highly committed to support private sector development in Jordan as key for creating new jobs. Through the grant agreement signed today we will provide financing to micro, small and medium enterprises to support their growth, thus allowing for the creation of new, formal and sustainable employment opportunities and promoting women economic empowerment,” said Dr. Bertram von Moltke.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan expressed appreciation to Germany’s continued support to Jordan’s development priorities while reiterating that this support marks another milestone in the ongoing partnership between the two countries. “This support will further contribute to empowering micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, especially those led by women, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing access to finance in line with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision,” she added.
