(Amman – 20 August 2026) Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, met with Canada’s Minister of State for International Development, Randeep Sarai, during his official visit to the Kingdom. Ministers discussed avenues for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in addition to advancing economic and development cooperation in line with the Economic Modernization Vision.
Toukan expressed Jordan’s appreciation for Canada’s continued support to Jordan’s development priorities covering the sectors of education, health, energy efficiency, economic growth, in addition to support for refugees and host communities. The discussions also addressed the future Canadian development assistance program to Jordan, which will place particular emphasis on the education sector, alongside projects aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and advancing women’s economic participation among others.
For his part, Minister Sarai affirmed the depth of the partnership between Jordan and Canada, noting that his visit to the Kingdom seeks to assess the impact of development programs and projects implemented with Canadian support and to strengthen cooperation between the two sides. He emphasized the importance of continuing collaboration in education, women’s economic empowerment, and humanitarian assistance.
